Everything is ready for the FIFA Club World Cup to take place, where for the first time there will be the participation of 32 teams from the six confederations. In previous years, the Club World Cup did not have a defined format, with only seven to 10 teams attending. It was a small and relatively low-key event, which often seemed more like a pre-season warm-up or cool-down for the participating clubs, who struggled to attract the general interest of fans.

The 2025 edition marks a major overhaul of the tournament. Instead of the usual seven teams, it now features 32 clubs from around the world. This includes European giants such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as big names from Major League Soccer such as Inter Miami and Los Angeles FC, and South American giants such as River Plate and Botafogo.

Where can you watch the Club World Cup in Mexico?

On this occasion, there will be more money at stake, in a longer tournament with greater global visibility. For these reasons, clubs take this competition much more seriously. Many have already made early moves in the transfer market to strengthen their squads for the competition. Liga MX will have two teams: Monterrey and Pachuca and their fans in Mexico will be able to enjoy them through the signal of Televisa Univision Deportes.

Even the television station owned by Emilio Azcarraga Jean will broadcast several games on this channel. The revamped Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13, promises to be one of the highlights of the soccer year.
