The participation of ‘Swing Perfecto‘ from Chihuahua in the Little League World Series 2025 is over, but the Williamsport tournament still has a long way to go and here are all the details about the next rounds and of course when the final will be played.
Before continuing, it is worth reviewing the performance of the Mexican representation in this edition of the Little League World Series, where despite starting with a defeat, they got back on track and defeated Puerto Rico and Panama, before being eliminated by Japan with a resounding 6-0.
When is the 2025 Little League World Series final played?
With Mexico’s game, Japan is already waiting for its rival in the phase of the best eight of the tournament, in which the teams from Latin America and Asia-Pacific are already in the International bracket, while on the U.S. Championship side, the Mountain and Metro teams are in the International bracket and the rest of the games and teams are yet to be defined.
These matches will take place between Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21, to determine the teams that will go directly to the finals of the International and U.S. Championship brackets, which will be played on Saturday, August 23.
The grand final of the 2025 Little League World Series will take place on Sunday, August 24 at 1:00 pm (Mexico City time) and earlier the teams that lost the zone finals will play the third place match.
When was the last time Mexico won the Little League World Series?
It has been 28 years since a Mexican team last won the Little League World Series. In 1997, they reached the final against the United States and, to add more excitement to the duel, they were losing 4-1 in the last inning and a home run and a hit to center field ended up giving them a 5-4 victory.
