A career as illustrious and memorable as Ronaldinho‘s has served as an inspiration for players and fans alike, making it worthy of the big screen. And it will be.

Netflix will release the documentary series “Ronaldinho: The One and Only” on April 16, a journey through the professional career of Ronaldo de Assis Moreira featuring archival footage, exclusive content, and testimonials from major stars who shared the field and locker room with him, such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Roberto Carlos, and Carles Puyol.

“Ronaldinho: The One and Only”

The former Brazilian footballer will be the star of this project, which will be available on the streaming platform in the middle of next month and will show previously unseen details of his life on and off the field.

The documentary will review his time with the teams that shaped his career, both in Europe (such as FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and AC Milan) and in America, where he played for Atlético Mineiro, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Querétaro FC in Mexico.

In addition, Dinho’s most significant international achievements will be highlighted. Among these, the 2002 FIFA World Cup victory with the Brazilian national team and the 2005 Ballon d’Or stand out.

The words of those who shared a locker room with him throughout his career, such as Lionel Messi at Barça, add a sense of intimacy and closeness, especially given what Ronaldinho meant to Leo during his early years at the Catalan club.

Meanwhile, according to Netflix, this production aims to “get to know the person behind the player,” focusing on Ronaldinho’s more human side and not just the dazzling brilliance of his career. To that end, the series will explore details of his childhood, the peak of his soccer career, and his retirement.

“Ronaldinho: The One and Only” will be the first release in a soccer trilogy about the country that includes “Tetra: Acreditar de Novo (USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory),” which focuses on the Verdeamarela’s 1994 World Cup victory, and “Várzea: Onde Nasce o Futebol (The Root Of The Game),” which explores the grassroots roots of soccer in Brazil.
