What time is the Home Run Derby 2025? TV channel, where to watch online and event format

I don’t know, but this year the Home Run Derby has to be Hispanicized. If it’s a home run derby, then the main protagonists and “favorites” of the event speak Spanish.

Don’t you believe me? Well, look: Ronald Acuña, Junior Caminero, Oneil Cruz. The other five rivals are American. So the chips of many go to the Caribbean players. We will also see Carl Raleigh, Byron Buxton, James Wood, Jazz Chisholm and Brent Rooker

What is the format of the Home Run Derby?

Easy. Three rounds: elimination, semi-final and final. So far so good. As usual, in the first round the batter will have three minutes or 40 pitches (whichever comes first) to send as many balls into the stands

Then comes a bonus period, where the player is out if he does it three more times. Basically, if they don’t hit it out of the park on every swing. If a ball is hit 425 feet or more, he can extend that period until he gets a fourth out

In the semifinals, the first will play against the fourth and the second against the third, with duels of two minutes or 27 pitches. The final is played under the same conditions.

If there is a tie in one or both stages, there will be a 60-second swing-off. If the tie persists, there will be three-swing rounds until there is a winner.

Atlanta hosts the strongmen competition again

In 2000, at the now-defunct Turner Field, the competition was held. The finalists were Sammy Sosa and Ken Griffey Jr. The Dominican took the crown that time, after hitting 26 balls into the stands.

This time there will be a local favorite, Acuna Jr, who will also be a starter in the National League lineup, despite having missed 43 games at the beginning of the season. The favorite is Carl Raleigh of Seattle.“I’m super happy to compete in my third Derby, and even more so to do it in front of the best fans in baseball, in Braves Country,” Acuna told the local press through an interpreter. “I’m super excited.”

“It’s great to be here,” said Raleigh. “Obviously, for all my family, it will be easy to get there. And my friends have already been sending me messages asking if they can go. So I hope I can reassure them a little bit.”

What time is the Home Run Derby 2025?

Now all that remains is to wait and see what happens and enjoy the long-range hits that will be produced at Truist Park in Atlanta on Monday at 8 p.m., with ESPN and MLB Network streaming the event.
