This week the 2025 ESPY Awards will be presented to reward sporting merits. Comedian Shane Gillis will be in charge of hosting the show, as a light-hearted and comedic figure was sought. So, if you are a fan of a team or player, here we will tell you where to watch the Red Carpet and everything you need to know about the event.

What are the ESPY Awards and who gives them?

The sports television network ESPN honors the best athletes in the United States. Since 1993, the media group has recognized individuals and teams who have achieved invaluable records or achievements during the year.

From its inception until 2004, the ESPY Award winners were chosen solely by fan voting. Since 2004, sports journalists, broadcasters, sports executives and athletes or ESPN personalities also vote.

Josh Allen, Caitlin Clark and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander among potential winners

NFL stars Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, tennis player Coco Gauff, gymnastics legend Simone Biles, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ilona Maher and Alexander Ovechkin are among the top nominees for this year’s ESPY Awards.

Allen, Barkley and Gilgeous-Alexander will compete in the men’s sports category, with Shohei Ohtani rounding out the list of nominees. Biles is nominated in the women’s category, Ilona Maher in the breakthrough category and Ovechkin and Clark in the record-breaking performance category.
