What time is the 2025 NFL schedule released? Date and how to watch it

The excitement for the upcoming NFL season begins long before the first kickoff. Today, Wednesday, May 14, fans will learn the full schedule for the 2025 season, in a media event that has already become an annual tradition. At 8 p.m. (U.S. Eastern time), the league will broadcast a special on NFL Network, NFL+ and other platforms, with analysis, guests and live reactions to the matchups that will mark the course of football from September to January.

But the show is not limited to a single day. From Monday, September 12, networks such as NBC, FOX, ESPN and Prime Video began to reveal some key duels, warming up for what promises to be a season full of rivalries, stellar debuts and international clashes. The list already includes games such as Cowboys vs. Eagles for the opening kickoff, and divisional classics such as Packers vs. Bears that will be played on strategic dates such as Christmas Eve.

The NFL expands its horizons

Beyond the traditional Sundays in the US, the NFL is making great strides on the international stage. This year, there will be official matches in five countries outside the Americas, taking regular season games to cities such as London, Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and Sao Paulo. Teams such as the Dolphins, Chargers and Steelers will be part of this global expansion that seeks to connect with new audiences and strengthen the international following of the sport.

The logistical and technological impact behind this schedule is colossal. The NFL relies on Amazon Web Services to process billions of combinations and design a schedule that respects travel, rivals, prime time and television commitments. It is no coincidence that every detail is measured to the millimeter: from who plays in prime time to what day the most anticipated teams of the season face each other.

Far from being a simple list of dates, the NFL schedule is a cultural event that defines the agenda of millions of people. The revelation not only impacts the teams, but also the host cities, television networks, sponsors and, of course, the fans who begin to plan trips, bets and family gatherings around the games.
