The WNBA Semifinals are underway, and the battle between the Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury is already delivering intensity on the court. After a strong opening game, the series is shaping up to be one of the most exciting showdowns of the postseason. Here’s everything you need to know about when and where to watch the next matchups and what happened in Game 1.

When and where to watch

  • Game 1: Phoenix 69 – 82 Minnesota
  • Game 2: Tuesday, Sept. 23 – 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN / Fubo)
  • Game 3: Friday, Sept. 26 – Time TBD (ESPN2 / Fubo)
  • Games 4 and 5, if necessary, will follow the best-of-five format with alternating home courts.

The Minnesota Lynx started the series strong with an 82-69 win over the Phoenix Mercury. From the opening tip, the Lynx controlled the pace and built a steady lead that Phoenix struggled to cut into. Courtney Williams led the way with 23 points, while Kayla McBride added crucial buckets.

Napheesa Collier made her presence felt with points, rebounds, and defensive stops. Phoenix had bright moments, but the Mercury’s struggles on defense and inconsistent shooting allowed Minnesota to stay in command.

With Minnesota taking a 1-0 lead, the Mercury will need to regroup quickly before Game 2. Adjustments on defense and more efficiency from their stars will be key if Phoenix wants to level the series. Meanwhile, the Lynx will look to keep their momentum going and use home-court advantage to edge closer to the Finals.

The Lynx have struck first, but the Mercury remain a dangerous opponent capable of turning the tide. Fans can expect intensity, physical play, and high stakes as the series continues. Don’t miss a second of the action as these two rivals fight for a spot in the WNBA Finals.
