The wait is over. Kansas City fans will finally be able to see Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The date is Saturday, August 9. The reason? The NFL preseason.
The matchup will take place in Glendale, Arizona, more specifically at State Farm Stadium, and marks the beginning of the so-called “Revenge Tour” after falling short in their attempt to achieve the historic Super Bowl three-peat.
Chiefs vs Cardinals: date, time and how to watch
The game will begin at 7:00 pm Central Time (8:00 pm Eastern Time and 5:00 pm MST). Of course, there will be a broadcast in Kansas City. It will be handled by KSHB-TV (Channel 41), while the radio signal will be handled by KFNZ (96.5 FM) and WDAF (106.5 FM).
The locals will also join the show and they will be in the hands of Arizona’s Family (KPHO-TV, CBS 5) with Dave Pasch, Sam Acho and Dani Sureck, as well as the Arizona Sports 98.7 FM radio signal. Fans in the US will be able to watch it live on NFL+ on mobile devices, and outside the US it will be available on Game Pass International.
What to expect in the Chiefs’ opener
Pre-season games are always a formality, but they never fail to generate excitement, and even arouse a certain morbid curiosity and expectations among the public.
Andy Reid could give Patrick Mahomes and Kelce some snaps in the first quarter, before giving way in the following quarters
The Cardinals, on the other hand, will show from the first game that they are going all out. They have a reinforced squad and want to compete from day one, even in preseason
Kansas City’s preseason route
The commitment against Arizona is just the first step. The Chiefs’ 2025 preseason schedule includes two additional clashes:
- Friday, August 15: vs. Seattle Seahawks (9:00 p.m. CST)
- Friday, August 22: vs. Chicago Bears (7:20 p.m. CST)
- All will be broadcast on NBC, ensuring national coverage for the defending AFC champions.
In addition to the live stream, fans will be able to find news, analysis and exclusive content on both teams’ official social media channels
In the case of the Cardinals, the @AZCardinals account on Twitter/X, their YouTube channel and the official website AZCardinals.com will offer videos, interviews and reports on the game
The Chiefs, on the other hand, will keep constant updates on their digital platforms and post-game press releases.
The table is set. Enjoy your meal.
