The match is not only useful for adjusting gears:

  • Bears looking for answers after being crushed 38-0 by Bills.
  • The AFC West champions are finalizing details ahead of their Week 1 debut in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
  • For rotational players, it’s literally “make or break”: secure a spot on the 53-man roster… or be out.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson made it clear that the starters will see minutes. This statement speaks to what the Bears want to do in the season.

We want our starters to keep polishing the game routine. The game with Buffalo was key for that. This will be our first preseason game away from home and it’s good to go through that experience

– Ben Johnson, HC de Chicago Bears.

Key players to watch

  • Luther Burden III (WR, Bears) – The second-round rookie has shown dynamism in the open field. This is his final exam to establish himself as a secondary weapon behind D.J. Moore.
  • Nick McCloud (CB, Bears) – His versatility playing both on the perimeter and in the nickel could guarantee him a spot on the roster.
  • Battle for the sixth WR – Miles Boykin, Tyler Scott, Maurice Alexander and Jahdae Walker fight for the last spot at the position. Every play will count.
  • Theo Benedet (LT, Bears) – The Canadian surprised the staff by taking snaps with the first unit. Tonight could be decisive to know if he displaces Braxton Jones.
