The family of the Golden State Warriors‘Steph Curry and WNBA’s Cameron Brink were just some of the names celebrating Sydel Curry-Lee’s pregnancy photos, proving how connected the basketball world is.
Sydel is Curry‘s sister and is married to Damion Lee, but is also the godsister of 23-year-old Brink, who plays for the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks as a forward as well as the Lunar Owls BC in the Unrivaled League.
And both basketball talents rushed to gush over her pregnancy photos, as they anticipate their shared family growing within the coming days with Curry-Lee due to give birth before the end of May.
“Mother x3,” Sydel captioned a post on Instagram, showing herself kneeling and sitting in a top allowing her bump to be spotted, along with cosy linen pants as she looked into the camera.
“these are perfection,” Brink commented under Sydel’s post, along with three love hearts.
“Beautiful!!!” Sonya, Sydel and Steph’s mother, captioned on an Instagram Stories repost.
Her comment, of course, refers to how many times she’s carried her and the Phoenix Sun’s star’s children after she delivered Daxon in November 2021 and Daryn in August 2023.
The pair, who married in 2018, announced the gender of their latest baby in a fun tic-tac-toe game involving their son. Damion was shocked to find out he’s expecting another son, exclaiming, “Oh s**t,” before managing to catch himself considering children were in the room.
“Honestly the most shocking game of tic-tac-toe,” Sydel wrote via Instagram. “I was convinced in my bonesss that this baby was the opposite of what it is, even bet on my own ‘mothers intuition.'”

Curry-Lee’s IVF journey
Sydel Curry-Lee, a passionate advocate for mental health and fertility awareness, has openly documented her journey to becoming a mother was a path marked by fertility struggles and the emotional toll of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Her first attempt with IVF in November 2020 was fraught with heartbreak, including several early miscarriages, known as chemical pregnancies, due to insufficient progesterone levels that made it difficult to maintain a pregnancy.
Despite these hurdles, Sydel and her husband, Damion Lee, remained hopeful. Their determination was rewarded in 2021 with the birth of their son, Daxon Wardell-Xavier Lee, a moment filled with overwhelming joy after such a trying experience.
By December 2022, the couple chose to pursue a second pregnancy using a frozen embryo from their previous IVF cycle, later calling the process a “miracle” as emotions ran high.
Now, in an unexpected and joyful twist, the couple is preparing to welcome their third child and first conceived naturally. The news came as a complete surprise to the parents, marking another unique chapter in their growing family’s story.
