Want a piece of NBA history? Wojnarowski’s memorabilia is up for grabs

For years, if an NBA trade, signing, or major development was happening, Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report it.

Now, the longtime ESPN insider is making headlines of his own by auctioning off items from his storied career to raise funds for St. Bonaventure’s men’s basketball program.

Wojnarowski’s old iPhones could be yours

Wojnarowski, who recently left journalism to become the general manager of his alma mater’s basketball team, is partnering with Daps Bounty to auction off memorabilia he accumulated over decades of covering the NBA.

The proceeds will support Team Unfurl, the NIL collective for St. Bonaventure, helping the program compete in an evolving college basketball landscape.

Among the items up for bid are Wojnarowski’s ESPN ID badge, press credentials from NBA Finals and All-Star Weekends, and several iPhones he used to break some of the league’s biggest stories.

One of the most coveted pieces? The phone he used to announce the NBA’s suspension in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which currently holds a high bid of $525.

For fans looking for a more personal experience, Wojnarowski is also offering video chats and dinner meet-ups as part of the auction.

His goal is simple: leverage his legacy to provide St. Bonaventure’s program with an edge in the competitive world of NIL deals.

“This is another instance where I’m trying to impact our program and help raise revenue,” Wojnarowski told WIVB4.

“We are in a fight to do that, especially in our conference. And we’re trying to do everything we can to be creative, innovative.”

While some might question the value of old cell phones, press passes, or even a badge, these items represent moments in NBA history.

Each phone will be delivered to winning bidders along with a list of major stories Wojnarowski broke using that device.

For example, his phone from 2019, currently bid at $350, was used to report Paul George and Kawhi Leonard joining the Clippers.

With the auction closing in eight days, fans and collectors still have time to claim a piece of Wojnarowski’s legacy while supporting the future of St. Bonaventure basketball.
