Toxicology report reveals dangerous mix
The autopsy revealed Davis had multiple substances in his system, including methamphetamine, MDMA, amphetamines, THC, and MDA. A spoon with burn marks, unidentified pills, and other drug-related items were found scattered throughout the home, according to the medical report obtained by DailyMail.com.
The report also indicated the presence of an enlarged heart and fluid buildup in the lungs and brain, but no signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), despite past concerns about Davis‘ mental state.

Following his abrupt exit from the NFL in 2018-when he famously retired mid-game-Davis‘ post-football life appeared turbulent. His ex-wife, Meghan Harpe, told investigators he exhibited erratic behavior in recent years, possibly linked to CTE-like symptoms. She believed he may have turned to drugs as a way to cope with the emotional and physical toll of the sport.
In 2023, Davis made headlines after crashing his Tesla and being found unconscious at the wheel. That incident led to a DUI arrest and a $1 million lawsuit. His wellness brand and business ventures also reportedly faced financial setbacks.

Despite no conclusive cause of death, the evidence suggests a man caught in a downward spiral. He had recently begun working on a documentary with his brother, Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis. “We were the difference makers in our family,” Vernon said in a statement.
