Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid forward, has been prosecuted in the Brazilian courts for alleged “disturbance of work or tranquility” during the big party he organized in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate his birthday, official sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The case is being heard in the 9th Special Criminal Court of Rio, which is responsible for dealing with minor offences, and is based on a complaint by a neighbour of the place where the Brazilian national team winger celebrated his 25th birthday, between July 19 and the early hours of the morning of July 21. According to the complaint, quoted by the newspaper O Globo, the party, which took place in a luxurious estate dedicated to organising large events, such as weddings or corporate events, caused a lot of noise and disturbed the peace of the neighbourhood.
The complainant claimed that he even called the Military Police, who found the loud music and shouting, and asked those present to turn down the volume. Vinicius and his guests complied with the officers’ orders, but when they left, “the sound again reached an extremely high volume,” according to the complainant’s account. Sources from the Rio de Janeiro State Judiciary indicated that a preliminary hearing on the case will be held on November 6.
