Vin Diesel reveals Cristiano Ronaldo has a role in Fast X: Part 2

In a move that’s ignited fresh buzz around what might be the final chapter of the Fast & Furious saga, franchise star and producer Vin Diesel has publicly revealed that a part has been crafted for international soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming installment.

Fans of both the high-octane movies and the global sports icon are now debating what Ronaldo‘s presence could mean for the series, even as details around the film remain tightly under wraps.

Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto across the franchise, shared a photograph of himself with Ronaldo on his official Instagram account.

Alongside the image, Diesel wrote: “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…”, a statement that confirmed not just interest in the idea but that a role has specifically been developed with Ronaldo in mind.

The Instagram post, which shows the two giving a thumbs-up to the camera, has quickly become a focal point for speculation.

While Universal Pictures has not yet issued a formal casting announcement, the actor’s note suggests that the 40-year-old forward, currently with Al-Nassr and one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet, could be stepping into Hollywood territory at a pivotal moment in his career.

Ronaldo himself has not publicly confirmed any film involvement, but he has previously expressed an interest in film and entertainment outside of his athletic career.

This April, he launched UR*MARV with British director Matthew Vaughn, an independent film studio, marking the footballer’s first foray into the movie world.

Where the Fast franchise stands now

The potential Ronaldo casting comes as the Fast & Furious series accelerates toward what is widely reported to be its final major installment, Fast X: Part 2, currently slated for an April 2027 release.

Diesel previously described this project as a culmination of more than two decades of storytelling and family-oriented action, though the studio’s public communications have remained sparse, leaving much of the plot and casting to be teased by Diesel himself.

In the same thread of social media updates, Diesel has hinted at several creative aims for the finale, including a return to Los Angeles, a renewed emphasis on street racing and car culture, and even a narrative reunion between Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner, the character played by the late Paul Walker.

The latter point has particular emotional weight for long-time followers of the franchise, as O’Conner‘s story arc concluded in Furious 7 with a heartfelt send-off after Walker‘s tragic death in 2013.

Despite the excitement around these elements, producers and Universal have not confirmed other major aspects of Fast X: Part 2, including the fate of other franchise regulars like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, Jordana Brewster, or Michelle Rodriguez, though many are widely expected to return.
