After Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Daniel Dubois to become the undisputed heavyweight champion, the first to “celebrate” his victory was British boxer Tyson Fury, who is crying out for a third fight against the Ukrainian. In a social media post, the “Gipsy King” went for a run in the early hours of the morning with the argument that “I am the one who can beat Usyk”.
It should be noted that Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have faced each other on a couple of occasions, where on both occasions it was the Ukrainian representative who took the victory. There would not be a tiebreaker fight, but rather a whim of the Briton to prove that he can beat him, although in his last attempts he has failed miserably. However, months ago Usyk was asked if he wanted to face the “Gypsy King” to which he replied:Why not?
Oleksandr Usyk, a scourge of British boxers
In the Ukrainian boxer’s record, it is worth noting that he has eight victories against British fighters, three of whom he has defeated twice. One of them, as mentioned, was Tyson Fury. The other Englishmen who have fallen at the feet of Oleksandr Usyk are:
- Tony Bellew
- Derek Chisora
- Anthony Joshua
- Tyson Fury
- Daniel Dubois
However, age can be a limiting factor once Oleksandr Usyk is 38 years old. However, his response in previous months when he responded that he would open the possibility of fighting Tyson Fury again added: “At the moment I just want to think about the fight against Daniel Dubois”. Now that the fight has taken place, the Ukrainian will have time to think about whether to give “Gipsy King” another chance.
Usyk’s victory over Dubois
Oleksandr Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Wembley Stadium to once again become the undisputed Ring, WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion. The Ukrainian fulfilled what he made clear with a warning he gave to Daniel Dubois less than two weeks before the fight: He posted on his official Instagram account a photo of himself looking athletic, shirtless and in blue shorts, with the caption that read: “Pressure doesn’t exist when you’re the one creating it.”
In this way, he remains unbeaten with 24 victories in the same number of fights. Will we see the Ukrainian back in the ring? If so, who would you like to see him fight, Tyson Fury for a third time?
