Tyrese Haliburton breaks his silence after his terrible injury and losing the NBA title

Through his official X account, Tyrese Halliburton wrote a long message from the bottom of his heart, in which he expressed the various emotions he’s felt since yesterday’s Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The Indiana Pacers star was injured in the first quarter, forcing him to leave the court and not continue his fight against Oklahoma City.

It’s believed Haliburton could be out for the entire upcoming NBA season. He underwent surgery this Monday after the Pacers’ Game 7 loss, which clinched the Thunder’s title, and the basketball player admitted to being “mentally devastated” by how it all ended, the closest he’s ever come to glory.

“What hurts the most is the mentor” – Tyrese Halliburton on the NBA Finals injury

“There are no words to express the pain of this disappointment. The frustration is immeasurable. I’ve worked my whole life to get to this moment, and this is how it ends? It doesn’t make sense. Now that I’ve had surgery, I wish I could count the times people tell me I’ll ‘come back stronger.’ How cliché, this is so bullshit,” he posted on social media.

“My foot feels like a dead weight, man. But what hurts the most, I think, is my mind. I feel like I’m wandering, but I know I’ll look back on this when it’s over, as something I’m proud of having fought for. It feels good to be able to let this go without them seeing the kid cry.”

What happened to Tyrese Halliburton in the NBA Final?

The Indianapolis star ruptured his Achilles tendon, one of the toughest injuries for any athlete. People like Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and most recently Jayson Tatum have had to deal with it, and Haliburton is inspired by the late Black Mamba and his steely mentality to find light in this dark time.

“Indy, I’m sorry. If there’s any fan base that doesn’t deserve this, it’s you. But together we’re going to fight with all our might to get back to this point and overcome this obstacle. I don’t doubt for a second that you support me, and I hope you know that I support you,” said the Indiana player.
