Tyreek Hill snaps at reporter over brutal stat that exposes his decline: “Are you trying to piss me off?”

Tyreek Hill didn’t hide his frustration when a reporter confronted him with a stat that cuts deep. Asked why he hasn’t caught a pass over 30 yards in almost a full year, the Miami Dolphins star laughed before firing back: “Are you trying to piss me off?”

The exchange highlighted a rare slump for Hill, once feared as the NFL’s most explosive receiver. Since an 80-yard bomb in Week 1 of 2024 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hill has gone nearly an entire season without a single reception of 30-plus yards.

His 2024 campaign ended with 81 catches for 959 yards – his lowest full-season output since 2019 – and his 2025 debut saw just four catches for 40 yards.

Hill remains optimistic

While Hill remained productive, nagging injuries, shaky Dolphins pass protection, and Tua Tagovailoa’s absences all contributed to his fading deep-ball numbers. Hill himself played most of 2024 with a damaged wrist before undergoing offseason surgery.

Still, the wideout insists the big plays will return: “I know my job. Hey, it will come. I feel like this week, we got a great opportunity to go out there, make some plays, and move past last week.”

Tyreek has a great opportunity against the Pats

That chance comes against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins narrowly beat them 15-10 last October, with Hill grabbing six passes for 69 yards. But the upcoming rematch will pit him against rising cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who has shown he can shadow Hill effectively.

With Drake Maye and the Patriots offense struggling in Week 1, Miami has a prime opening. For Hill, this game could either extend the drought that’s haunting him – or finally remind the league why they call him the Cheetah.
