Tyreek Hill misses Dolphins camp with mysterious injury

The Miami Dolphins are hoping 2025 brings them better luck in the health department.

After a 2024 season that spiraled thanks to key injuries-most notably another concussion scare for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa-this training camp was supposed to be the start of a reset. A chance to regroup, get healthy, and come out swinging in a crowded AFC.

But now, there’s a fresh concern-and it involves one of the team’s biggest names.

Tyreek Hill didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice, and no one seems to know exactly why. According to Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper, multiple sources confirmed that Hill is dealing with an “undisclosed injury.”The Dolphins haven’t provided details, and based on early reports, they might not any time soon.

Hill’s absence is noticeable not just because of his star power, but also because he already raised eyebrows with a late arrival to camp over the weekend. That, paired with this new mystery ailment, has fans and analysts asking questions-especially given Hill’s importance to the offense.

Hill’s Health Is More Than a Footnote-It’s the Story

Even in a “down year,” Hill posted over 1,200 receiving yards in 2024. Still, it wasn’t the dominant performance many expected after he was ranked the No. 1 player in the NFL by his peers heading into the season.

Of course, it’s hard to shine when your quarterback carousel features journeymen and backup-level arms. Tagovailoa’s concussion knocked him out midseason, forcing the Dolphins to get creative under center. It showed in the numbers, too-Hill’s deep targets and yards after catch both dipped compared to his 2023 production.

This year was supposed to be different. Tagovailoa is back and healthy. The offense is intact. The addition of Minkah Fitzpatrick on defense (in a trade that sent Jalen Ramsey to Pittsburgh) added a jolt of energy to the other side of the ball. If everyone stays upright, Miami has a real shot to contend.

But that’s the key phrase: if everyone stays upright.

With the season opener against the Colts just a month away, the hope is that Hill’s injury is precautionary-a minor hiccup in a long preseason. But the Dolphins aren’t saying much, and in August, silence can speak volumes.

Until more is known, Dolphins fans are left to cross fingers and refresh Twitter.
