Tyreek Hill confirms Miami Dolphins future: Is he leaving?

Tyreek Hill dramatically reveals he will be staying with the Miami Dolphins in a surprising U-turn after previously claiming he was done with the team after their dismal 2024/25 NFL season in the AFC East.

The star wide receiver, who had hinted at wanting to leave after the team’s disappointing end to the season, after they missed out on the playoffs, by declaring he wants to compete for and win Super Bowl rings.

The revelation seemed to signal a breakdown in relations between himself, Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier after the 30-year-old, famed for his speed, only produced 959 yards and six touchdowns from 81 receptions.

But now he has now reaffirmed his commitment to staying in Miami after being asked directly by NFL host Kay Adams on Friday if he wanted to continue playing for the Dolphins at the Hard Rock Stadium.

“I do, I don’t want to go nowhere,” Hill told Adams on February 7. “I love it, my family loves it. Kids absolutely love being on the beach every morning. It’s an amazing thing.”

Hill issues public apology

The Dolphins made the playoffs in Hill‘s first two seasons with the team, but this year’s struggles left many players disheartened after they finished with a .471 record (eight wins) and a distant five victories behind the Buffalo Bills.

But under head coach McDaniel, the Cheetah believes there is a path forward for the organization and pointed to the previous successes as a reason why no hasty decisions should be made.

“We are really building something special in Miami,” Hill added. “We made it to the playoffs the first two years.

“Obviously, this year was hard. But if guys continue to buy into what coach is building and the culture that he is trying to build, it’s going to be a beautiful thing.”

Hill has revealed that he was not the only player in Miami feeling discontent with how the season unfolded. However, he acknowledges that he was the only one vocal enough to express those frustrations publicly.

The Dolphins star also took a moment to apologize to his teammates, particularly quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, for the controversy that followed his comments.

“This is my public apology,” Hill said. “On God, yeah. They already know that though. They know I’m not that kind of player though.”
