Ravens head coach John Harbaugh made it clear that Tyler Loop will be the team’s primary kicker for the upcoming NFL season. This prompted a reaction from the young talent, who had an excellent performance last Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys, converting 5 of 6 field goals.
Baltimore defeated the star’s team by a final score of 31-13. Dallas’ performance wasn’t their best, however, and they will face the Falcons on Friday of this week for a better opportunity to improve their performance. It’s also important to remember that this is just the preseason; the real fun will officially begin in September.

“He’ll be the kicker,” Harbaugh said via the team’s website. “He’s earned it, and he’ll get another chance to get back on the field next week to kick more and continue to improve.” Shortly after learning this, Loop had a brief reaction after learning he’d be replacing Justin Tucker: “That’s fun”.
Tyler Loop was drafted in the sixth round in April and became the likely choice to take the job when Justin Tucker was released in May amid misconduct allegations, but the Ravens delayed any official announcement until after Saturday’s game against the Cowboys.
The NFL suspended Justin Tucker for 10 weeks
In June 2025, it was reported that former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was suspended by the NFL for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 regular season. Tucker can serve the suspension as a free agent and can sign with an NFL team. He is eligible for reinstatement on November 11, the NFL stated.
Tucker, 35, was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists at eight luxury spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area, according to The Baltimore Banner. All of the alleged acts of misconduct occurred between 2012 and 2016, during Justin Tucker’s first five seasons in the NFL.
