Travis Kelce’s future: retirement and proposal to Taylor Swift?

There is no doubt, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are the couple of the moment. The athlete and the singer are in the spotlight and on the front pages of the international scene. Since they confirmed their love story, they have been seen together and cuddling on countless occasions.

The tight end has not hesitated to give it his all at the artist’s concerts. And the latter has witnessed, from her now famous box, all the matches of her beloved in Kansas.

However, despite the support of his partner, the American player’s season has not been as he had imagined at the beginning of the season. His numbers in yards, receptions and touchdowns have been drastically reduced, being the lowest production of his career in the regular season: only 823 receiving yards, less than nine yards per reception and only three touchdowns. Like last season, the regular season figures have set off all the alarm bells. However, last year he ended up lifting the Super Bowl and silencing all the critics.

One last dance?

On this occasion, the last game of the season arrives with his future more open than ever. This Sunday, Kelce and the Chiefs will face the Eagles in search of a third consecutive Lombardi for Kansas City. And, from the United States, they point out that it could be the last game for the American star.

The tight end renewed his contract with the Missouri team for two years in April 2024, so he would still have one more season left. However, several media outlets point to the possibility of Travis Kelce restructuring his contract to go out on a high note after a Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Some media outlets go further and speculate about the possibility that the American soccer player will kneel down and propose to Taylor Swift at the end of the game. The couple has already been together for more than two years and a possible retirement from the game would make it easier for them to get married. Such is the point that several bookmakers have taken up this possibility and it is possible to bet that Travis Kelce proposes to the singer at the Super Bowl.

Travis Kelce's future: retirement and proposal to Taylor Swift?

The departure of the tight end is a matter more than present in the preview of the final. That is why he was asked about it by his teammate and friend Patrick Mahomes. “I have no idea. He hasn’t told me if he’s thinking about that. I know he signed a two-year extension before the season. But he also has a great life outside of football. Either way, I appreciate every time I step on the field with that guy knowing that he’s a true legend not only of the Chiefs, but of the NFL. If it’s his last game, let’s go out there and get him a win. If it’s not his last game, let’s go out and get him a win anyway,” said Kansas’ quarterback.
