Travis Kelce’s future remains a mystery as he goes off the grid following Chiefs Super Bowl loss

Travis Kelce fans will have to wait a little longer for an update on his playing future following news that there will be no New Heights podcast, which he hosts with brother Jason, this week.

Ever since the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, all eyes have been on whether the legendary tight end plans to return for another season.

After getting emotional while discussing his future with brother Jason in last week’s podcast, the show is taking a break, setting off eve more speculation over Travis’ future.

“No new episode this week, but WE’LL BE BACK with offseason episodes and amazing guests soon,” the podcast wrote on their X account on Tuesday.

Kelce with a lot to think about

Travis, along with girlfriend, Taylor Swift have seemingly moved away from the spotlight since the Super Bowl. It’s believed they will take a vacation after busy years for the both of them.

Before then, Travis spoke about his future on last week’s episode of his New Heights podcast, and his tone sounded like a player who was more likely to hang up his shoes than return to the field.

“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m kicking every can I can down the road,” he said.

“I’m not making any crazy decisions [yet]. Right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing.

Travis noted that the Chiefs’ success over the years has resulted in him playing more games than most of the league, which could weigh on his decision.

“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games than everybody else in the entire league,” said Kelce.

‘That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body and it’s a lot of time spent in the building, focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself. That process can be grueling, it can weigh on you.

‘It can make you better [but] it can drive you crazy at the same time, and right now it’s one of those things where it was kind of driving me crazy this year. It happens when you kind of tail off towards the back nine of your career.

‘When you feel yourself not have the success that you used to have, it’s a tough pill to swallow.’

In the meantime, Kelce and Swift are both looking forward to spending time with each other while finally relaxing.

“Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome,” a source told Page Six.

“They are looking forward to enjoying some downtime. They knew that Taylor’s Eras Tour would be wrapping in December and football season would be coming to an end now so they had planned for this time to focus on some alone time to just be together.

“Taylor and Travis are going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future and just relax.”
