Travis Kelce reveals his next career move as he continues to consider retirement

After a disappointing 2025 campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce finds himself at a professional crossroads. The 36-year-old tight end is weighing whether to return for a 14th NFL season or step away from the game following one of the rare down years in his decorated career. And an enticing opportunity to join his brother Jason Kelce on the golf course could be enough to sway his opinion.

The Chiefs finished 6-11, missing the playoffs for just the second time during Kelce‘s tenure.

Despite the team struggles, the veteran remained productive. He earned his 11th consecutive Pro Bowl selection, leading Kansas City with 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns.

Even in a transitional year, he continued to serve as quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ most reliable target and a stabilizing presence within the offense.

While speculation persists about retirement, Kelce has hardly slowed down this offseason.

Two months removed from the regular season, he remains active through his weekly New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason.

The show has become a major platform for both brothers, with a mix football insight with humor and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. In a recent episode, the pair revealed their next shared venture into professional golf entertainment.

What is TGL?

Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL), a tech-forward, 3-on-3 competition founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour, will host its final three regular-season matches at the SoFi Center in Florida.

The innovative format features elite players hitting into a custom-built 60-foot simulator, giving fans a combination of traditional shot-making in a stadium-style presentation.

With TGL being broadcast on ESPN, Jason will serve as a guest announcer from Sunday through Tuesday.

“Jason Kelce’s coming to the final THREE matches of the TGL regular season,” TGL wrote on X on Friday. “Catch him live Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday on ESPN and ESPN2.”

During the podcast discussion, Jason Kelce explained how the opportunity materialized: “Thankfully (TGL) is a part of ESPN, so I get to go down there and work,” Jason said.

Sensing an opening, Travis quickly asked: “Nice man, do you get a plus one?”

Jason responded: “Yes, I would love to have you if you’re willing to come down”, to which his younger sibling replied: “Yeaaaahhhh!”

A glimpse into life beyond football?

While attending TGL as a plus-one does not constitute a definitive “next career move,” the appearance shows how Travis is broadening his horizons beyond the gridiron.

Media, entertainment, and crossover sporting events have increasingly filled his offseason calendar, plus his wedding to Taylor Swift.

For Kansas City, the looming question remains whether their All-Pro tight end will return to anchor the offense. His production suggests he still has value at the highest level, but 13 NFL seasons carry undeniable physical toll.

For now, Kelce appears content balancing both lives while he weighs up his future.

But his presence at TGL alongside Jason would offer a preview of a potential post-football chapter, one that keeps him firmly in the spotlight.
