Despite swirling breakup rumors and an ongoing legal battle, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and global pop sensation Taylor Swift received some much-needed positive news this week as both have been nominated for the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards. The NFL power couple are being recognized for their individual achievements in sports and music.
Kelce, alongside his brother Jason, is nominated for Favorite Podcast for their hit show New Heights, which has exploded in popularity among football fans and casual listeners alike.
The Kelce brothers join an elite list of nominees from the sports world, including Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, NBA stars Jayson Tatum, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry, international soccer icon Lionel Messi, and MLB standout Shohei Ohtani.
On the music side, Swift continues to dominate. The 14-time Grammy winner is nominated for Favorite Female Artist, competing with an all-star lineup that includes Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, SZA, and Selena Gomez-who also happens to be one of Swift’s closest friends. Swift is also up for Favorite Song with her emotionally charged hit, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
Attendance uncertain as Kelce and Swift maintain low profile
While both are finalists at the June 21 ceremony, it remains unclear if either will attend. The Kids’ Choice Awards will air live from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on MTV2, CMT, and additional platforms, but representatives for Swift and Kelce have not confirmed their appearance.
Last year, Swift was absent due to her Eras Tour schedule, while Kelce was competing in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament.
This year’s ceremony could mark a rare public appearance for the couple, who have kept a notably low profile this offseason.
Kelce was recently seen at teammate Patrick Mahomes‘ charity golf event in Las Vegas, but Swift did not attend. Instead, she contributed a signed guitar for the event’s auction.
Adding to the intrigue is the ongoing legal saga in which Swift has reportedly been subpoenaed, further fueling speculation about tensions surrounding the couple.
