Travis Kelce is preparing to face his 13th season in the league. After his loss in the Super Bowl with Kansas City Chiefs against Philadelphia Eagles, the TE hopes to obtain better results than in his previous season.
The truth is that last year was not the TE’s best: he finished the year with 97 receptions for 823 yards and only three touchdowns. And above all, with the loss in the Super Bowl final.
For this reason, it is not surprising that Kelce wants to do much better this season, take the team to the top, and leave behind the rumors of his retirement.
However, the one who knows about watching the game as a spectator even though he has shined on the field is Tom Brady.
After his retirement, the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. He also opened the doors to his CardVault stores, and Brady is currently in his second year as a commentator onFOX Sports alongside Kevin Burkhardt.
And his contract with the news network is historic and exorbitant: the seven-time Super Bowl champion signed a 10-year and $375 million contract in May 2022, the largest in history.
Of course, this high sum did not go unnoticed by fans and even less so by Travis.
Kelce’s opinion on Tom Brady’s salary
During his time on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, the 35-year-old TE admitted he would love to be in the booth like Tom: “I want to see what calling a game feels like,” he said.
In addition, Travis also confessed that he had seen Brady’s cashier’s check after being asked about it by retired NFL player Taylor Lewan, and that the sum surprised him:
I mean, everybody saw that one. Yeah, it was a [expletive] ton of money. No, I’ve always, I feel like, impersonated guys that call the games and stuff like that growing up. And I don’t know, I thought it would always be fun. Just jump in there.
The truth is, if he decides to retire, being a commentator is a valid option for the Chiefs star. For this reason and since his actions are being seen and followed by millions of fans after his romance with Taylor Swift, he knows he must be careful with his words and gestures.
However, with a new NFL season ahead, his next goal is to win a fourth Vince Lombardi with Kansas City, before thinking about his future as a commentator. Can you imagine Kelce commentating a game?
