Despite persistent speculation, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are not engaged, at least, not yet; but when might the Kansas City Chiefs star and the pop icon make a decision to send their fans wild? Here’s the latest update.
Unfortunately for the Swifties, the NFL tight end and the Eras Tour sensation are simply focusing on spending quality time together after a demanding 18 months within their respective careers, meaning no decision is in sight.
Kelce, who is still recovering from the disappointment of his team’s recent loss in Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles, is prioritizing relaxation with Swift rather than stressing over engagement gossip and rushing to pop the question.
In fact, a source close to the 35-year-old’s inner circle revealed that he finds the rumors amusing, showing just how far away the feeling of pressure actually is to the professional athlete.
“All those rumors are very funny to him,” a source told The US Sun. “As he is just enjoying some time off from all the spotlights and spending time with Taylor to enjoy simple things and get his energy back as the last year has been exhausting at many levels for him.
“He is just enjoying some time off, getting off the radars for a bit, and recharging. They’re watching their favorite shows and movies, cooking together, chilling, and enjoying each other’s presence.
“Resting on the couch, under a blanket, not doing much, disconnecting from the outside world-just like anyone loves to do with their loved one.”
“No, Travis hasn’t asked her hand yet. It will come, but it hasn’t happened yet,” the sourced added, meaning an engagement isn’t in the immediate plans following the Super Bowl, despite fans eagerly anticipating a proposal.
Kelce’s Future in the NFL
One possible reason for the delay in a proposal is Kelce‘s uncertainty about his football future. The 34-year-old tight end is still contemplating retirement, a decision that could significantly impact his next steps.
He has until March 14 to make his final decision about retirement off the back of a crushing Super Bowl loss and a challenging 2024/25 NFL season that saw him produce career lows in yardage and touchdowns since 2014.
“I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,” Kelce recently stated. “And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back, it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.
“I think I can play; it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”
