Having lost the Super Bowl last week, the major topic surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs right now is whether Travis Kelce is going to retire or not.

The tight end is certainly at the backend of his career and having failed to clinch an unprecedented three-peat against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, it could be the time to walk away from the sport.

The majority of fans would like him to remain on the team for at least one more year, and his teammates certainly feel that way. Having been the clear favorites to win the Super Bowl, there is a chance that the Chiefs can get there again next year.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini joined “The Rich Eisen Show” to discuss multiple topics about the NFL offseason.

She revealed that at the moment, it seems more likely that Kelce will keep playing and postpone his eventual retirement.

Kelce set to stay

“There’s definitely a sense that Travis is going to try to play more,” Russini said.

“I haven’t heard anyone saying, ‘Yeah, he’s really struggling with what he wants to do.’ It’s definitely leaning more towards that. That can, of course, change. This is gonna be his decision and his decision only. But for this Chiefs operation looking to move forward here, I think they feel pretty good that Travis has a little more left in him.”

With Taylor Swift‘s tour wrapping up in December and Kelce‘s NFL season over, the pair is seizing the rare opportunity to unwind and enjoy time as a regular couple.

Swift and Kelce are reportedly relishing in some quiet downtime, with both of their busy schedules now cleared. According to a source speaking to US Magazine, neither has any major commitments in the near future, making now the perfect time to relax and focus on each other.

“They both want to rest and decompress. Neither of them have huge commitments coming up,” the source shared.
