Travis Kelce draws the crowd at the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am as Scheffler’s baby steals the show

Travis Kelce was one of the main attractions at the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am, drawing fans eager to see the NFL star step onto a professional golf course. Kelce played the front nine alongside Scottie Scheffler and the back nine with Brooks Koepka, blending star power from football and golf in one of the most popular Pro-Am events of the year.

But while many came expecting Kelce to be the center of attention, the most memorable moment belonged to someone much smaller. The real story unfolding on the course was Bennett Scheffler, Scottie Scheffler’s son, who unexpectedly became the crowd favorite simply by being himself with a golf club in his hands.

Scheffler’s baby steals spotlight

Born in May 2024 and just around 18 months old, Bennett was seen holding a small plastic golf club and swinging at the ball in his own unpolished but determined way. He didn’t hit it cleanly, and the swing had no form, but the ball moved and that was enough. In that instant, a toddler casually joined a professional golf setting surrounded by elite athletes, creating a moment that felt both surreal and endearing.

For Kelce, not everything went perfectly. At one point, he mishit a shot so badly that even the caddie and those nearby burst into laughter. Travis briefly showed his frustration, accepted the mistake, and kept playing.

The scene stood out because of its simplicity. While Kelce brought star appeal and Scheffler and Koepka brought championship credentials, it was a child’s curiosity and joy that captured attention. Seeing Bennett take swings on a professional course during a friendly Pro-Am reminded fans that sports, at their core, are about play, inspiration, and moments that can’t be scripted.
