Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ new restaurant facing huge hurdles ahead of opening

Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are bringing their championship pedigree into the hospitality world with a new high-end steakhouse, 1587 Prime, set to open in downtown Kansas City.

But despite the excitement surrounding the venture, recent footage from inside the restaurant has revealed significant construction delays that may put the late-summer opening date at risk.

Located inside the upscale Loews Hotel in the Power & Light District, the restaurant is being marketed as a luxury destination for locals and visiting fans alike-especially during NFL season.

The idea is to blend fine dining with sports culture, offering patrons a premium experience just steps from major venues like the T-Mobile Center and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

However, the current state of the space tells a different story. Exposed wood framing, incomplete kitchen areas, and an overall unfinished interior suggest that the restaurant may not be ready in time.

With Kelce and Mahomes preparing for NFL training camp, the heavy lifting has been left to their hospitality partners, Noble 33-a global restaurant group known for trendy spots like Meduza Mediterrania in New York City.

A VIP steakhouse with a stadium vibe

The vision for 1587 Prime is ambitious. The two-story steakhouse will feature a dramatic “stadium tunnel” entrance, leading to a central host stand and meat display reminiscent of the walk out at Arrowhead Stadium.

The space will include multiple kitchens, a massive wine fridge, and a second-floor dining room with an open-air kitchen for a more immersive culinary experience.

There’s also a bar area fitted with TVs-intended to show only Chiefs games-as well as private dining rooms and a VIP suite. The exclusive room will offer guests, including celebrities like Taylor Swift, a view of the main dining area through a two-way mirror, maintaining their privacy while enjoying the ambiance.

The menu has not been released, but diners can expect traditional American steakhouse fare such as porterhouse, strip, and filet cuts. Kelce and Mahomes reportedly want to keep the experience upscale yet accessible, aiming for a balance between luxury and affordability.

With only a few months until kickoff and the restaurant’s opening date quickly approaching, much work remains. If construction delays continue, the Chiefs stars may be forced to adjust their launch plans.

For now, all eyes are on Noble 33 to bring this bold vision to life in time for the fall dining season.
