Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce effortlessly flaunt their hidden talent making anyone who tries it look like a rookie

The Kelce brothers’ legendary beer shotgunning skills once again stole the spotlight during Friday’s opening round of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe.Travis and Jason Kelce implemented a self-imposed penalty system that turned every three-putt into a liquid celebration, executing shotgun beers with the same precision that made their viral beer challenge famous months earlier.

As Jason explained pre-round: “Travis and I always have the side bets going… every three putt, you got to shotgun a beer.Their synchronized technique – honed through years of tailgate camaraderie – transformed routine golf mistakes into crowd-pleasing exhibitions, showcasing a skill that left even fellow athletes in awe.

The betting consequences quickly manifested on the leaderboard, with Travis languishing in 62nd place and Jason near the bottom at 83rd out of 90 celebrities after Day 1. While their golf performance suffered, their beer proficiency became the tournament’s unexpected highlight. The brothers’ nonchalant execution contrasted sharply with Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield, who struggled alongside Travis, spitting out beer during an attempt and pleading “he hopes no one got the gaffe on video”.

Playing alongside the Kelces, retired NFL lineman Andrew Whitworth experienced the brothers’ antics firsthand throughout the round. The group’s dynamic shifted dramatically when Baker Mayfield joined Travis for an impromptu shotgun attempt that backfired spectacularly. Video captured Mayfield choking and spitting mid-chug, prompting Travis to laughingly hope the mishap wasn’t recorded – a hope instantly dashed by circulating social media footage.

The American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe is renowned for its laid-back atmosphere where competition blends with entertainment. This year’s edition delivered surreal moments including a play-stopping bear encounter on the 16th hole when a black bear appeared near the tee box, forcing a safety delay.

While Travis enjoys his offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 training camp approaches rapidly at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph:

Dates & Access: Opens July 22 (season ticket holder exclusive) with public practices beginning July 23 through August 13. Most practices are free, though three special dates (July 27, August 2-3) require a $6 admission fee

Autograph & Theme Days: Key opportunities include Full Team Autograph sessions (July 22, 27; Aug 2, 3, 7) and specialized days like Military Appreciation (Aug 13) and Family Fun Day (Aug 2)

Quarterback’s Expectations: Patrick Mahomes recently emphasized Travis’s critical leadership role, stating: “I expect Travis to be Travis… the play on the field is gonna be high… it’s the leadership that he brings” – confirming Kelce’s central role despite offseason distractions

The Kelces’ Lake Tahoe escapade proves that whether facing blitzing linebackers, three-putt penalties, or unexpected bears, their brotherly synergy and talent for turning moments into entertainment remain unmatched. As Travis transitions from shotgunning beers to catching passes in St. Joseph later this month, their golf antics will linger as a testament to their off-field chemistry.
