Travis Hunter addressed the wave of criticism he faced following his comments comparing the challenges of being a two-way player in the NFL, which he aspires to be after the NFL Draft, to Shohei Ohtani’s dual-threat role in MLB.

The future NFL player clarified his earlier remarks, acknowledging that both playing multiple roles in the NFL and Shohei Ohtani’s dual-threat role in MLB are challenging. This response came after he faced criticism for suggesting that being a two-way player in football was inherently more difficult, leading him to emphasize that neither ‘is easy to do.’

Travis Hunter played for the highly publicized Colorado Buffaloes, coached by Deion Sanders, for two seasons. In his 22 total appearances, he showcased his versatility. Notably, he shared the field with Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. He was a standout player and he did win the Heisman trophy.

Travis Hunter undoubtedly gained valuable insights from Coach Deion Sanders, a unique athlete who played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. Hunter now aims to emulate his coach’s historic versatility and carve his own path into sports history.
