Travis Hunter and the Jacksonville Jaguars will make their NFL preseason debut this Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers at EverBank Stadium.

Fans from all around the world will finally get to see one of the most exciting rookies of the century and already considered as a contender for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The AFC South team had a terrible 2024 regular season, ending with a 4-13 record that had the team ending second to last in the Division. The fans and management expects that the squad will turn it around with the help of quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Hunter.

Travis Hunter gives Jon Gruden a blunt response

Rookie sensation Travis Hunter is gearing up for his NFL debut with the Jacksonville Jaguars when they take on the Steelers this Saturday. But before that, he had a memorable moment with former NFL head coach Jon Gruden at training camp.

Gruden, now with Barstool Sports, asked Hunter how he’s handling Jacksonville‘s notoriously hot and humid weather. Summers here are long, oppressive, and not exactly athlete-friendly, especially for athletes that have to play football outside.

Hunter‘s reply was confident. The No. 2 pick in the 2025 Draft is clearly ready to bring the heat, no matter the temperature or the extreme weather. Now that needs to translate into spectacular catches, fierce defense and wins for the Jaguars.

The game plan for Jacksonville against Pittsburgh

Rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter, is expected to play both offense and defense this Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He began camp practicing exclusively on one side of the ball or the other on given days before alternating in practices this past week.

He has worked more on offense than defense, but is expected to play both. No NFL player has played as extensively on both offense and defense in nearly three decades, so Travis is set to make history in the league and try to cement a legacy.

The offense has looked increasingly sharp during training camp, and a major preseason storyline will be how the team utilizes a talented group of receivers – Hunter, Dyami Brown and Brian Thomas Jr. – who have shown strong in training camp.
