Travis Hunter does exactly what many will hate: He got his wife Leanna Lenee’s face tattooed on his chest

The Jacksonville Jaguars‘ Travis Hunter made a bold and controversial statement by tattooing his wife Leanna Lenee‘s face on his chest, prompting both admiration and debate online.

The two-way phenom revealed the new ink while enjoying a tropical vacation with his wife and infant son, showcasing the chest portrait along with additional football-inspired tattoos on his legs.

At just 22, Hunter won the Heisman Trophy with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024 before going No. 2 overall to Jacksonville. He recorded over 100 receiving yards and scored his first NFL touchdown before a knee injury ended his season in late October.

Off the field, 2025 was a milestone year: Hunter married longtime partner Leanna in May, welcomed their son shortly before the season began, and shared intimate family moments with fans on social media.

During the trip, Leanna shared snapshots highlighting Hunter‘s detailed chest tattoo, capturing her likeness, and included photos with their son and other football-themed ink, underscoring his pride in both family and football.

The move divided observers, with some applauding his commitment and others questioning the permanence of such a personal gesture. Hunter remains unfazed, embracing married life, fatherhood, and his public display of devotion.

Will Travis Hunter remain a two-way player at the Jaguars

Hunter‘s rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars ended sharply on October 30, 2025, when a non-contact LCL tear in his right knee forced the young phenom onto injured reserve, halting his promising campaign.

Through seven games, he recorded 28 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown, while adding 15 tackles and three pass breakups on defense, helping spark Jacksonville‘s impressive turnaround from a 4-13 record in 2024 to a 13-4 division-winning season.

Surgery in Dallas successfully repaired the isolated LCL injury, and recovery is projected at six months. Early signs are promising, with Hunter walking without crutches by December, targeting offseason workouts around May.

Looking ahead, the Jaguars plan to shift his deployment, positioning Hunter as a full-time cornerback and part-time receiver in 2026, a notable change from last year when offensive snaps dominated his playing time, per NFL Network‘s Cameron Wolfe.

“From what I understand,” Wolfe explained. “They plan to play him as a full-time cornerback, a part-time receiver, which is a switch from last year. They believe he can be elite at cornerback and still be an impact player on offense.”

The Jaguars view his rare versatility as a strategic advantage, allowing him to influence contests on both sides of the ball while preserving his long-term durability, and his recovery videos reveal eagerness to contribute immediately.

This dual-role approach reflects both the team’s confidence in Hunter‘s athleticism and the necessity of managing his workload, balancing his explosive skill set with protection from overuse, a critical consideration after a rookie season cut short by injury.

His evolving responsibilities, combined with rapid recovery and disciplined rehab, indicate that Hunter remains central to Jacksonville‘s defensive and offensive schematics, ensuring the former Heisman winner continues to leave a substantial mark in both roles.
