Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders will go down in college football history as the duo that brought the Colorado Buffaloes back into the national spotlight.
Together under Coach Prime‘s guidance, they helped energize a fanbase and dominate headlines week after week. Now, with the 2025 NFL Draft just around the corner, the iconic partnership may be nearing its final chapter.
Although it’s unlikely the two will land on the same NFL team this month, Hunter made it clear that their bond won’t be broken-no matter where they end up.
During the latest episode of The Travis Hunter Show, the electric two-way star opened up about what comes next if they part ways after draft night.
“Call each other and talk to each other,” Hunter said. “Check up on each other. Offseason, I got a quarterback that can throw to me, so pretty easy for me.”
Even with the bright lights of the league looming, Hunter still envisions working with Sanders-at least during the offseason. It’s a testament to their deep connection, forged not just on the field, but as friends and brothers throughout their college careers.
NFL dreams become reality
This week, The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman released his latest mock draft, and it showed how quickly things are coming into focus for both players.
Feldman projected Shedeur Sanders to go No. 3 overall to the New York Giants-a franchise in desperate need of a franchise quarterback. Hunter, meanwhile, was predicted to go right after, landing with the New England Patriots at No. 4.
“Hunter is the best pure athlete in this draft,” Feldman wrote. “He is a rare talent, an elite cornerback who doubles as a dynamic wideout with a gas tank like college football has never seen. Other special DBs like Charles Woodson and Champ Bailey have dabbled on offense. None have played as many snaps as Hunter or made as many big plays on that side of the ball and excelled deep into games after remarkably high snap counts.”
