In his final year before entering the NFL as a star, Travis Hunter broke the university’s single-season receiving yards record. He totaled 92 receptions, 1,152 yards, and 14 touchdowns as a receiver, while also contributing 4 interceptions on defense. By the end of the season, Travis Hunter was in contention for the Heisman Trophy.
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders set a historic record for the Buffaloes with 4,593 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. The jersey numbers of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders have been retired by Colorado, and now both are in the NFL-though one has found more success than the other.
The Cleveland Browns will benefit from the trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars
In the past draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars made a bold move, executing a trade with the Cleveland Browns to move up in the draft and secure Travis Hunter. The Jaguars gave the Browns their first-round picks for 2025 and 2026.
As a result, the Cleveland Browns will have two first-round selections in the next draft. With a strong class of quarterbacks available, this trade could prove to be hugely beneficial for the franchise in the future, according to ESPN Cleveland analyst Mike Greenberg:
“There will be a lot of quarterbacks in this draft… I think that trade they made with the Jaguars could wind up looking like one of the better trades we’ve seen in recent NFL memory,” Greenberg said.
If the Browns select a quarterback, it would likely mark the end of Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders as the franchise’s signal-callers. A new quarterback regime is highly probable for the Browns by 2026.
