Tommy Fury, the only boxer to beat Jake Paul, edging him out via split decision in February 2023, has reignited hopes for a rematch. In a recent interview tih Boxing Social, Fury delivered a confident guarantee: he sees a rematch as inevitable.
The younger brother of Tyson Fury stated, “that fight is there, and that fight will happen”, while warning Paul to dial back the social media trash talk. Even though today Paul’s name is being floated more around a possible fight with Anthony Joshua, a rematch with Fury would be a must-see bout.
Fury confident over Paul
Fury isn’t just banking on past triumphs, he’s convinced his skills have sharpened since their initial showdown.
I think in a rematch, I knock him spark out. Because my hand is better than it was when I fought him…
Even though Paul certainly can say the same, Fury still implies superior preparation and power this time around. Outspoken and direct, Fury added that Paul’s incessant trash talk shouldn’t dictate the terms:
He’s got to stop talking b*****like he is every single day
It’s clear Fury wants a rematch, but only on terms that reflect respect and competitiveness.
Negotiations loom as fans anticipate Fury vs Paul
While Fury lays down the emotional groundwork, the financials still need ironing out. He insists he’s not unreasonable about purse discussions, but they must be realistic.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul’s camp has floated lucrative offers, some rumored between $3M-$4M, especially if the bout takes place in the U.S.; Fury has dismissed earlier offers as insufficient. With renewed interest from fans and mounting tension between the fighters, boxing’s crossover culture is primed for another explosive chapter.
