Throughout NFL history, there have been quarterbacks who have reigned supreme over others for periods of time. Some just happened to do it for way longer than seemed possible, with Tom Brady being Exhibit A in that regard. The tail end of Brady’s career has coincided with Patrick Mahomes taking the mantle.

Football fans would have loved to see Brady and Mahomes go toe-to-toe on more occasions. Time didn’t allow that to happen, but we did get to see them in a Super Bowl. In that one, Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out on top, helped by an elite defense that held Mahomes’ offense to 9 points. Ndamukong Suh retires after 13 NFL seasons

Suh was a wrecking ball in Super Bowl LV, getting to Mahomes for 1.5 sacks and causing the Chiefs offensive line all sorts of problems alongside Shaq Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul and more. Suh played one more season in Tampa before one final year with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.

Before Tampa, Suh had stints with the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams, but he was most known for his Detroit Lions career. The 2nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Suh was named an All-Pro in his rookie season and made four Pro Bowls in five seasons with the Lions.

Suh had some on-field moments that led to him being called “dirty” by several players and fans, but there was no denying his tenacious play style is what made him such a dominant force.
