Tom Brady’s strong language during a live interview on FOX surprises fans

Tom Brady is learning that even in retirement, his words carry weight, especially when they slip past the censors. The NFL legend sparked laughter across social media this week after dropping three swear words during a live appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

The 47-year-old, now in his second season as Fox Sports‘ lead analyst, didn’t hold back when discussing the game. FS1’s production crew failed to bleep the slip-ups in time, giving viewers an unfiltered glimpse of Brady‘s fiery personality.

For many fans, it was a reminder of the quarterback they remembered on the field, the one who shouted, “Let’s f***ing go!” before nearly every big game.

From Olsen to Brady in the booth

Brady stepped into Fox’s No. 1 broadcast team this season, replacing Greg Olsen alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporter Erin Andrews.

The decision drew plenty of criticism, as Olsen had earned glowing reviews for his sharp analysis and easy chemistry in the booth. Olsen now works with Joe Davis on the network’s second-tier team.

While some viewers are still warming to Brady‘s commentary style, moments like Thursday’s outburst showed he is bringing the same intensity to broadcasting that defined his playing career.

Brady‘s media work isn’t his only post-retirement venture. Just one month into his broadcasting career last year, the NFL approved him as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Since then, he has been heavily involved in reshaping the franchise alongside owner Mark Davis.

The Raiders made headlines by hiring Pete Carroll as head coach, trading for Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith, and selecting running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick in the draft.

Las Vegas is desperate for stability. The team has not won a playoff game since 2002 and has reached the postseason only twice since 2003. Brady, who retired as the most decorated quarterback in league history with seven Super Bowl rings, has made it clear he intends to help change that culture.

The Raiders started the 2025 season with a symbolic victory, defeating Brady‘s old team, the New England Patriots, in their opener. They’ll look to continue their momentum in Week 2 when they host the Los Angeles Chargers.
