Having retired from football and finalized his divorce from Gisele Bundchen in 2022, Tom Brady is now the subject of commentary not for his throws, but for his choices off the field. Pearl Davis, an outspoken YouTube and podcast personality better known online as JustPearlyThings, recently shared her controversial perspective on what she sees as Brady’s biggest off-field misstep-his marriage to the Brazilian supermodel.
According to Davis, the NFL legend should have spotted the “red flags” early on in Gisele‘s dating history and never entered the relationship in the first place.
“He didn’t look at Gisele’s dating history or really care about it… You know who Gisele dated before Tom Brady? Leonardo DiCaprio,” Davis said during a recent podcast. “So of course Gisele is going to think that Tom Brady is like a scrub.”
Despite Brady‘s pristine image as one of football’s most disciplined and respected figures, Davis questioned whether someone of his stature was ever the right match for a global fashion icon. Instead, she suggested he would have fared better with someone less in the spotlight.
“He should’ve went to Boston College or something and found him a nice little 19-year-old, because now Tom Brady is going to be the most exciting thing that that 19-year-old has ever seen,” she added.
Davis is well known for her controversial dating takes, and this time she set her sights on the notion that athletes-particularly high-profile ones like Brady-often set themselves up for heartbreak by pursuing women with celebrity pasts.
“If Tom Brady was honest with himself, he would’ve looked at Leo and just left,” she concluded.
Co-parenting a priority
The couple, who were married for 13 years and share two children, have made co-parenting a priority. In an interview following their separation, Bundchen opened up about their approach to parenting and how it has benefited their kids.
“They get to learn from two different worlds and that’s wonderful for them,” Bundchen explained, emphasizing the value in exposing their children to different environments and perspectives.
Though their romantic relationship has ended, Brady and Bundchen have continued to share parenting duties amicably. And while their marriage is no more, their efforts to maintain stability and normalcy for their children have been widely praised.
