Tom Brady‘s transition from NFL superstar to FOX NFL Sunday broadcaster has drawn praise, but the quarterback himself says his improvement in 2025 came from sticking to what he knows best: thinking and speaking like a quarterback.
In an interview with sports media insider Andrew Marchand, Brady explained that the difference between his 2024 and 2025 performance in the booth was intentional.
“I started to transition this year into, ‘Let me do more of how I did it as a quarterback,’ because that’s really where my comfort is,” Brady said.
“As opposed to, ‘Let me try to prepare as a broadcaster.'”
Rather than imitating what he thought a broadcaster should sound like, Brady focused on authenticity.
By letting his natural instincts as a QB guide his commentary, he came across as more relaxed and confident, earning the approval of fans and analysts alike.

Brady credited much of his success to his broadcast partner, Kevin Burkhardt.
“I love Kevin,” Brady said.
“He’s like a brother from another mother. We have a bond for life. He’s a world-class person. He is one of the most genuine, thoughtful, caring people I’ve ever been around. Not only that, he is so talented in what he does. He’s so embracing of everybody around him. It’s an amazing quality. I value Kevin as much as anybody I’ve ever worked with.”
