Tom Brady’s biggest insecurity exposed – Former teammate spills the truth

Tom Brady may be the GOAT, but even the greatest of all time have their insecurities-especially when it comes to aging. Despite his legendary career, record-breaking Super Bowl wins, and eye-watering net worth, one thing always seemed to get under Brady’s skin: his age. And now, one of his former teammates is spilling the details.

Tristan Wirfs, who played alongside Brady in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl with him, revealed a surprising side of the NFL icon during a recent episode of The Pivot podcast. “He was 22 years older than me. I was like, ‘You were born like a year or two after my mom, Tom,'” Wirfs recalled. “And he’s like, ‘Shut up. Don’t tell me that.'”

For a man who dominated the NFL into his 40s and defied Father Time like no other quarterback, Brady’s sensitivity about his age comes as an unexpected revelation. But rather than tarnish his GOAT status, it makes him more relatable. After all, who doesn’t cringe a little when reminded of how old they are?

The Tom Brady that few people know

Wirfs also shared that beyond the intense competitor seen on Sundays, Brady had a different side-one full of dad jokes. “I know there’s a side of Tom that nobody gets,” Wirfs said. “He tells dad jokes-like, yeah, like a mother. And I was like, ‘Dude, I think that’s not funny.’ But he always got a kick out of it.”

While Brady’s age may have been a sensitive topic, his success speaks for itself. The man who once almost went undrafted became the most feared name on the gridiron. With seven Super Bowl rings, over $530 million in career earnings, and an empire that extends far beyond football, he’s far from slowing down-even in retirement.

Brady’s post-NFL ventures have only made him richer. His jaw-dropping $375 million deal with Fox Sports ensures he’ll remain a major presence in the football world as a lead analyst. But that’s not all-his latest power move? A $50 million bid to buy a stake in the Birmingham Phoenix, a team in England’s The Hundred cricket league.

What are a few years when you’re a millionaire?

From NFL dominance to global sports ownership, Brady’s business empire is expanding at an astonishing rate. With investments in the Las Vegas Raiders, Major League Pickleball, and now cricket, he’s proving that even if he’s retired from the field, his financial game is still very much in play.

And as for his so-called insecurity about aging? If stacking millions while cracking dad jokes is what “getting old” looks like, then Brady might just be winning that game, too.
