Tom Brady tries to make peace with the Buffalo Bills but ends up angering the Bills Mafia even more

Tom Brady may have stepped away from the field, but his knack for agitating the Buffalo Bills and their fans clearly hasn’t gone anywhere.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion attempted to play nice this week in a promotional video tied to Nike’s newly unveiled Rivalries uniforms. Instead, his gesture morphed into another chapter of trolling that lit up social media and reignited one of the NFL‘s most lopsided rivalries.

The video begins innocently enough. Brady, standing with a package in hand, unwraps a No. 17 Buffalo Bills jersey, Josh Allen’s signature number.

“What is this?” he asks with mock incredulity. “Look, I love Orchard Park. I had some of my best games there. But this is ridiculous.”

For a moment, it appeared the future Hall of Famer was softening his stance toward one of the franchises he tormented throughout his 20-year tenure with the New England Patriots.

He praised the Bills’ new frosty alternate jersey, calling the chrome detailing “kind of intimidating.”

Then came the twist. When asked to autograph the jersey, Brady signed it with his name – and a painful reminder for Buffalo: “33-3 vs. the Bills.”

He capped the stunt with a smirk. “Looks pretty good,” Brady joked, holding the jersey up for the camera.

The clip went viral almost instantly, generating cheers from Patriots fans and groans from Bills supporters.

Brady‘s dominance over Buffalo is well documented. During his years in New England, he was nearly unbeatable against the Bills, compiling a 33-3 record and routinely dashing hopes in Orchard Park.

Even after leaving the Patriots, Brady added another win against Buffalo as quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

For many in Bills Mafia, his career was synonymous with heartbreak. Seeing him not only revisit that history but brand it onto Allen’s jersey felt less like nostalgia and more like salt in an open wound.

Fanatics, which released the video on TikTok, leaned into the moment, captioning it: “He didn’t even need to look up that stat for the camera… we all know he remembered that.”

The reaction from Buffalo was swift. On X, one fan posted, “We can’t escape this man even in retirement.” Another wrote, “It’s October and Brady already has us mad, again.”

The timing of the video also added sting. The Bills are entering the 2025 season as one of the AFC’s top contenders, led by reigning league MVP Josh Allen. Head coach Sean McDermott has guided the team to consistent playoff appearances, including back-to-back trips to the AFC Championship Game.

Yet despite the progress, the specter of Brady continues to loom large. The Bills’ rise has been built on finally escaping the Patriots’ shadow after Brady left New England in 2019. But as Buffalo chases its first Super Bowl title, reminders of the past seem to follow them at every turn.

Brady himself acknowledged his complicated relationship with the franchise. “I don’t think Bills fans love me very much,” he admitted in the video. Still, his decision to underline his 33-3 record showed he remains all too comfortable poking fun at Buffalo’s expense.

Bills eye bigger prize

This fall, Brady’s involvement with the Bills will take on a new form. Now part of FOX Sports’ top broadcast team, he will be back at Highmark Stadium on October 5 when Buffalo debuts its Rivalries uniform against the Patriots.

For once, Brady won’t be the one trying to beat the Bills on the field though his voice calling the game could prove another reminder of how much he has shaped their story.

For Allen and the Bills, the challenge is bigger than settling old scores. They remain among the few franchises in the NFL yet to lift the Lombardi Trophy, and expectations in Western New York are higher than ever.

With Kansas City, Baltimore, and Cincinnati all in the mix, Buffalo’s path won’t be easy. But Allen’s MVP form has given fans hope that the franchise is on the brink of something historic.

As for Brady, the video shows he isn’t about to fade into the background of that journey. Even when attempting to compliment Buffalo’s new look, he managed to remind the franchise, and its fan base, of the dominance that defined their darkest years.

For Bills Mafia, the message was clear: the rivalry may no longer be decided on the field, but Tom Brady still knows how to win the war of words.
