The team where Tom Brady invested part of his money continues adding assets to take things to the next level. The Las Vegas Raiders will be one of the franchises looking completely different next NFL season, thanks to the solid management and smart decisions made by new general manager John Spytek.

Recently, the Raiders added another wide receiver, a player who was once a favorite of current Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton.

Raiders Add WR Ahead of Upcoming Season

Marquez Callaway joins the Raiders, returning to a franchise he already knows after spending time on their practice squad in 2023.

Callaway, a product of the University of Tennessee, entered the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. He was initially signed by the New Orleans Saints, where Payton was still head coach, and played three seasons before joining the Broncos.

To make room for this move, the Raiders released Kawaan Baker.

“Callaway, a fourth-year wide receiver, has played in 47 career games (17 starts) since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2020,” read a statement from the Raiders. “He owns 83 career catches for 1,069 yards (12.9 avg.) and seven touchdowns. Callaway has also returned 14 punts for 149 yards (10.6 avg.) and four kickoffs for 94 yards (23.5 avg.).”

Now, the Raiders have a receiver who can help them decode Sean Payton’s offensive system – a valuable asset considering he will now be a divisional rival.
