Tom Brady has spent much of his life under public scrutiny, but when it comes to personal change, those around him say his response has been calm and deliberate.
As news surfaced that his former wife, Gisele Bundchen, has married Joaquim Valente, Brady‘s reaction has been anything but dramatic.
“He’s happy in the way that is simple: he’s happy that she is happy,” a source told the Daily Mail Sunday.
According to the source, Brady views the situation through a long lens, shaped by co-parenting and mutual respect rather than lingering emotion. “Down the line, he might get married again and he would want her to be OK with that, so he has to be OK about it,” the insider added.
“If he was upset, that would mean he still has feelings for her and that it would be unfair to the kids if he didn’t want to see their mom happy and move on.”
That mindset, the source suggested, reflects lessons Brady has learned over time. The former New England Patriots quarterback has navigated the end of two major relationships while continuing to share parenting responsibilities with both women involved.
He shares his eldest son Jack, 18, with Bridget Moynahan, and son Benjamin, 16, and daughter Vivian, 13, with Bundchen.
“He’s had to move on from two different important relationships, and two mothers to his children,” the source added.
Rather than resisting that reality, Brady appears to have embraced it. “He’s learned a lot along the way, and he’s taking this next stage in stride. He’s being very mature about it and not letting it pick at him negatively in any way,” the insider shared.
“It’s life, and everyone is happy. It’s the holiday season, he’s not inviting any drama where there doesn’t have to be.”
For Brady, the focus has remained consistent, regardless of headlines or speculation. “They are living their own separate lives and anything that actually matters is the safety and happiness of their children,” the insider said. “That is everything for Tom.”

Although Bundchen‘s wedding was kept private, the source said it was not something Brady learned about secondhand. According to the insider, she made a point of being transparent about major life events, particularly those that affect their children.

“They still have to talk because of the kids, and though that is often very brief, important milestones, schedules and of course her getting married was something she wasn’t going to keep secret.”
Page Six reported on Friday that Bundchen and Valente quietly tied the knot last month. The ceremony was described as intimate, with a small group of friends and family gathered at home. The couple began dating in 2022 and welcomed a baby boy together in February.
“He is thrilled they finally tied the knot after having a kid together,” a source told Page Six, referring to Valente.
