Tom Brady believes that Team USA is the favorite to win the gold medal in flag football at the 2028 Olympics: “They have a big advantage”

The competitive fire continues to burn in Tom Brady! At the 2024 Laureus Awards in Madrid, the legendary quarterback celebrated the Olympic debut of flag football with passion. He also dropped a hint that sent social media into a frenzy: Is he planning an epic comeback? His enthusiastic words about the United States’ advantage sounded like a challenge, sparking a storm of speculation.

Could this be the prelude to a new feat for the seven-time Super Bowl champion? The sports world is on the edge of its seat, waiting for the legend’s next move!

“I’m excited. Obviously, the Americans will have a bit of an advantage, but it will be fun to see other teams fight for the gold medal,” said Brady.

At 50 years old in 2028, Brady plans to compete in flag football’s Olympic debut with Team USA, seeking a gold medal to forge a global sporting legacy.

With the NFL’s approval, could this really happen?

The NFL has allowed its players to participate in Olympic flag football, giving players like Tom Brady the opportunity to compete in the 2028 Games.

That summer, Brady will turn 50 and could be inducted into the Hall of Fame, which would make that season a historic milestone in his career. Nevertheless, his dream of winning Olympic gold remains an ambitious challenge, and that possibility seems very far off.

Although flag football is safer than regular football, it can still cause injuries, especially to the head, though they are less frequent. A doctor who studied over 2,500 emergency room cases says that flag football is not risk-free.

While fans imagine stars like Patrick Mahomes winning Olympic medals, the truth is that the game remains dangerous.

Olympic flag football faces challenges such as limiting each team to one active NFL player and resolving safety, salary, and logistical issues before the stars can compete with confidence. It will be a huge challenge, but they seem capable of taking it on given their vast experience.
