TJ Doheny looks to reassert himself tonight when he takes on Nick Ball for the featherweight world title at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. The main event is scheduled to begin at 6:20pm Eastern Time.

After a rough run, TJ Doheny is determined to get back on track and move forward following his seventh round TKO loss to Naoya Inoue at super bantamweight in September 2024.

Now, with his return to featherweight, he will face opponents hoping that this will be the last obstacle before achieving great things in his career, so he has a certain amount of pressure on him even though he is not the betting favorite.

Before the big fight, let’s go back in time as TJ Doheny is an Irish boxer who was born on November 2, 1986. He started boxing at a very young age with a very clear goal: to become a professional and a champion.

The beginnings of TJ Doheny

In his youth, the streets of Portlaoise witnessed the first punches he threw into the air, a boy who found his refuge and his fire in boxing. In the neighborhood gyms, amidst sweat and toughness, he honed his technique and developed an insatiable hunger to compete. This simple life tattooed a fierce discipline on his soul.

At a young age, he threw himself into the amateur world, and it wasn’t long before he was making a name for himself. Wearing the colors of Ireland on his chest, he fought in European rings like the European Championships, leaving his mark and building a solid path to something bigger. Amateurism was his school, professionalism his destiny.

In 2013, the ring welcomed him as “Power“, a name that resonated with every punch he threw. He has always been appreciated for his enormous courage to be professional from head to toe, his first fights were a show of skill and strength, a warning that he had come to stay.

He is not going through the best of times at the moment, but he is in a win-win situation ahead of his next fight against Nick Ball, the sensation of English boxing.

How much does TJ Doheny make per fight?

His net worth is a clear example of not throwing in the towel, which is why the Irishman has taken home some good money for his fights. In the last 4 years his value has gone through $1.1 million, not bad.
