Tiger Woods has spent decades mastering some of the most demanding and iconic golf courses in the world. Now, the 15-time major champion has poured that experience into a spectacular new project of his own: Trout National – The Reserve, the ultra-exclusive golf course created alongside MLB superstar Mike Trout.
The reported $100 million private golf project in southern New Jersey was designed by Woods’ TGR Design and features an 18-hole, par-72 championship layout stretching more than 7,500 yards.
But the numbers only begin to explain what Woods and Trout have created. With membership reportedly limited to just 227 members, Trout National is designed to offer something increasingly rare in modern golf: exclusivity combined with a course built to challenge elite players while delivering a memorable experience on nearly every hole.
“From vision to reality,” Woods wrote as he unveiled a dramatic flyover of the finished course, saying he was proud of what the teams behind Trout National had accomplished and excited for golfers to finally experience it.

For Woods, the ambition went far beyond creating 18 beautiful holes. In the video unveiling the property, the golf legend explained that most courses might produce only one or two truly unforgettable photographs. His goal was to build a place capable of producing those moments again and again.
The property gave Woods an extraordinary canvas. The course begins around a heavily wooded area near the clubhouse before opening dramatically into a former quarry, creating two distinctly different environments within the same round.
Some holes invite aggression. Others demand restraint. There are opportunities to attack drivable holes and chase birdies, but Woods also warns of “beastly” stretches capable of punishing even highly accomplished golfers.
The challenge is built around angles, decision-making and risk-reward golf, hallmarks of the strategic philosophy Woods developed through decades of competing at Augusta National, St Andrews, Pebble Beach and the world’s greatest championship venues.
Yet difficulty is only part of the attraction. Woods emphasized something that photographs and aerial footage cannot completely capture: the feeling of actually being there walking the property, hearing its sounds and experiencing how the landscape changes around the golfer.
It is that combination of championship golf, luxury, privacy and sensory experience that could make Trout National one of the most intriguing new private clubs in American golf. The course has already generated considerable anticipation in the golf world, with its Woods-Trout partnership and highly limited membership adding to its mystique.
A major achievement during a difficult year for Woods
The unveiling also arrives during a complicated period in Woods’ life away from golf.
Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a vehicle crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27, 2026. Authorities said he showed signs of impairment, although a breath test indicated no alcohol consumption. Woods pleaded not guilty, and the legal case has continued through the summer.
Days after the incident, Woods announced that he would step away to seek treatment and focus on his health. Reports in June said he had completed treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland and returned to the United States, while legal proceedings connected to the DUI case remained ongoing.
The creation of Tiger Woods’ Trout National golf course reflects his continued evolution in the sport and in businesses built around his decades of expertise. Despite the recent controversy surrounding his DUI case, Woods’ influence could ultimately extend far beyond the championships that defined his legendary career.
