On Thursday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office released new bodycam footage related to the two-vehicle crash involving Tiger Woods on Jupiter Island on March 27.

Did Tiger Woods speak with the president?

In part of the video, the golf legend is seen walking away from a patrol car to take a phone call. Minutes later, an officer asks him to return to the crash scene, and Woods complies while still on his cellphone.

Once he finished the call, around 2:51 p.m., the officer instructed him to remain in the area. It was then that Woods replied: “I was just talking to the president.”

Although it has not been confirmed which U.S. president he was referring to, Woods is known to have a close relationship with Donald Trump.

Hours earlier that same day, before boarding Air Force One, Trump told reporters he had spoken with Woods following the incident.

“I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty,” Trump said. “There was an accident. That’s all I know. Very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person, amazing man, but some difficulty.”

Following the crash, Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI (driving under the influence), along with charges for property damage and refusing a sobriety test at the scene.
