Tiger Woods, the legendary golfer known for his strength and resilience, is facing a heartbreaking loss-his mother, Kultida Woods, has passed away.

The news has deeply affected Woods, who shared his grief with fans through a simple yet powerful message.

“Love you, Mom,” he wrote.

Given their close bond, Woods’ mourning process is understandably challenging, and it has led him to make a significant decision regarding his professional commitments.

A temporary hope to return to golf

In the wake of his mother’s death, Tiger made a brave decision to play in the upcoming 2025 Genesis Invitational, hoping that stepping back onto the course might offer a sense of normalcy and healing. Fans rallied behind him, with many encouraging Woods to “win for Kultida,” eager to see him triumph in the face of personal hardship.

However, as the days passed, the golf legend realized that the grief was still too overwhelming to ignore. Just minutes ago, Woods made the difficult announcement that he would be withdrawing from the event. He shared that he was “still processing a loss” and, in his words, could not continue with his original plan to play.

In the wake of Woods’ decision, fans from around the world expressed their understanding and compassion. Many took to social media to share supportive messages, reminding Woods that his emotional well-being comes first.

“You owe no one anything. Moms are the friggin best. Take the time you need,” one fan wrote, reinforcing the importance of healing before returning to the game.

“Take your time, Tiger. We all understand. This one will hurt for a bit. God be with you and your family, dude…” were the sentiments of another.
