Tiger Woods and LeBron James, born on the same day and sharing multimillion-dollar careers

For LeBron James, the celebration of his 41st birthday was not what he had hoped for. Unfortunately, his team ended up losing on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, against the Detroit Pistons. The cake had 41 candles, but the feeling was perhaps a bit bittersweet for the great star of the Los Angeles Lakers.

And it was no small occasion, as the celebration was meant to take place at a venue fitting for the “King” as he marked another year of life during his 23rd season in the NBA. The Lakers were looking to return to the winning path, but they were left wanting.

The Los Angeles squad lacked the defensive power needed to stop a team that arrived with adrenaline at full throttle, eager to remain at the top. Meanwhile, James and company fell short, with key players such as Luka Doncic contributing very little on the defensive end.

Elsewhere in Los Angeles, surely at another restaurant favored by Tiger Woods, birthday candles were also being lit on a cake. For the greatest golfer in history, the talk is no longer about a missed drive or a perfect putt, but rather about the family experiences he now enjoys more fully.

LeBron James and Tiger Woods were born on the same day and share victories in their sports

Tiger Woods was born on September 30, 1975, while James would be born nine years later on that same date. Destiny had reserved sporting achievements for them that only they, and no one else, would accomplish.

One already triumphed in the world of golf, and although he is not officially retired, injuries have forced him to reduce his sporting activity to the bare minimum. For LeBron, meanwhile, the journey continues with his machine, which, though a bit worn, still runs like a Lamborghini that has received all its scheduled services.

Woods and James belong to a private club of billionaires

The story of LeBron James is unique. He has won four NBA titles and holds the distinction of being the league’s all-time leading scorer. With such dominance and presence as one of the greatest ever, it is only natural that his earnings are astronomical.

This season, he is set to earn $124 million between salary and endorsements. His total net worth is estimated at $1.8 billion. He has also shown his intention to become an NBA team owner, with speculation pointing to Las Vegas as a possible destination.

Things are somewhat different for Tiger Woods. Over the past six years he has participated in just 13 tournaments, earning only $212,000. However, money is no longer an issue for Tiger, given everything he amassed in previous years.

Injuries have taken a heavy toll on Woods: his back, his knee, his Achilles tendon. Everything combined to pull him away from what he loves most, golf. Even so, without playing, he pocketed $10 million through the Player Impact Program.

According to the website Sportico, Tiger has a net worth of $2 billion.

Now, both continue working from their respective trenches for the benefit of their sports, making it clear that perhaps the date of their births helped dictate their greatness.
